We are looking for a trustworthy, active person to live in our handbuilt shipping container cabin on our 37-acre property who will maintain parts of the property. The work required will be mowing, whipper shipping, some fence maintenance, and caring for our natural swimming pool. Our property is on the market so we need it to be well-maintained and presentable.
You can enjoy our property, which includes a steep hill with views of the Glasshouse mountains, a flowing creek, a natural swimming pool, friendly livestock including goats, cattle, and a camel, plus a private, well-set-up cabin with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Our property is located in Delaneys Creek, a 10-minute drive to the township of Woodford. Woodford has cafes and restaurants. Maleny and Montville (very popular tourist towns) are 40 mins away. The Sunshine Coast is 1 hour away. D’Aguliar National Park is close by with walks and swimming spots.
The cabin will be available until we find a buyer for the property, but there should be plenty of notice before the property changes hands. The cabin has a generous living and dining area. The kitchen is well-equipped and a decent size. There is a well-set-up bathroom with a shower and compostable toilet. 2 Bedrooms and a small storage room. It has a good-sized deck overlooking the Billabong and great views. The cabin has an enclosed house yard so keeping dogs there is fine. We do have chickens on the property so would just need to know the dogs won’t be able to chase them.
It would ideally suit a couple and would need to be able to work independently as we will no longer be living on the property. Free accommodation will be provided but not food. The cabin is set up to cover basic kitchen/cooking needs. There is plenty of space to park up caravans etc.
We have a business, Eco Billabongs, that creates natural swimming pools so if of interest you would be welcome to paid work (if providing suitable labour) or volunteer on job sites to learn about the process of setting these up. Prior experience in the construction industry would be needed due to safety.
